The Component
What It Is and Who It Serves
Caregiving Office Hours are recurring open sessions for employees who have a live family-care decision and need help putting it in order. The question might involve childcare, an aging parent, competing family responsibilities, a provider arrangement or uncertainty about what kind of support to seek next.
Unlike a general presentation, office hours begin with the decision an employee is carrying. Tammy helps clarify the question, map the relevant people and conditions and identify a next step. The session is educational and strategic. It is not psychotherapy, diagnosis, treatment or emergency support.
Delivery
How It Runs
Office hours run as a recurring element inside the corporate caregiving program. Employees bring a current decision, while the session provides a structured way to work through what is known, what remains unclear and what action belongs next. The format is designed around care navigation rather than personal clinical disclosure.
The organization positions office hours alongside its existing benefits and communicates the boundaries of the offering. Questions that belong with medical, mental health, legal or emergency resources are not absorbed into the program. Utilization and nonclinical feedback can help the organization understand which caregiving themes need stronger education or resources.
Practical Difference
What It Changes
For Employees
The work addresses the gap between having access to information and knowing how to use it in a particular family situation. Employees gain a way to narrow a broad concern into a workable decision, identify missing information and determine which person or resource should be involved.
Recurring access also allows employees to return when the care map changes rather than treating the first decision as the end of the arrangement.
For Managers
Managers have a defined place to route caregiving questions without becoming navigators themselves. This supports an appropriate conversation about work needs while keeping private family details and care decisions outside the manager's role.
Program Architecture
Where It Fits
Office hours provide the live navigation layer alongside the Working Parent, Aging Parent Planning and Sandwich Generation programs. Workshops create shared education, and the Digital Resource Library supports employees between sessions. Manager Education helps supervisors understand when and how to point employees toward the resource.
Corporate caregiving programs are educational and strategic. They are not psychotherapy and do not create a therapist–client relationship with an organization or its employees.
